CS2 Dot Crosshair: A Center-Point Test
Use a dot as a precise center reference, then test its coverage and reacquisition cost.
Who Should Try a Dot?
A dot gives a single center reference with no bars extending into the target. That can make first-bullet placement feel direct. The trade-off is that a large dot covers exactly the point you need to inspect; a tiny one can disappear when you move quickly. A dot is a visual preference, not a change to weapon accuracy.
Set Up the Comparison
In Settings > Crosshair/Scopes, save your current share code, then enable the center dot. Compare it with a four-bar shape while keeping color and outline as similar as the current menu allows. If the center becomes a blob, reduce dot size or thickness in the preview; if it fades into the scene, test an outline or different color. This is a derived menu recipe, not a pro share code or a verified old console string.
A Dot-Specific Drill
Place the dot over a distant practice target's head without firing. Ask whether you can still see the target's edge. Fire one shot after coming to a stop, then repeat after a short strafe. Next, aim at a bright surface and a dark corner: can you reacquire the dot quickly after a flick? If not, a small crosshair with bars may preserve the center without hiding it.
Test the same scenes with the original code and the dot candidate, changing only one control at a time. Keep the winning version as a share code and use the five-minute testing routine for the full comparison. The code directory has dated player snapshots if you prefer an importable starting point.
