CS2 Dynamic Crosshair: Read Movement and Spread
Dynamic feedback can show inaccuracy, but its value depends on whether you can still read the target.
What Dynamic Feedback Is For
Valve changed the default to Dynamic Quad in its September 22, 2026 CS2 update, saying it better represents weapon accuracy. The September 23 follow-up says new dynamic styles show real weapon spread and inaccuracy, with a configurable Dynamic Spread Limit. That is feedback about a shot, not a way to make a shot more accurate.
Compare Against Static
Save your current code, then select Dynamic Quad or another currently available dynamic style in Settings > Crosshair/Scopes. Keep the color easy to see. In practice, strafe, stop, fire a single shot, and then spray a short burst. Watch whether the changing bars help you identify when the weapon has settled. Next, repeat the exact sequence with a static crosshair.
If the outer movement pulls your eyes off the opponent, try the current menu's spread-limit control or choose static. If you misread a fixed marker as a sign that moving shots are accurate, dynamic feedback may be worth the visual cost. This is a derived menu recipe, not a published player code.
Decide in a Real Scene
Perform the comparison on a distant angle and again in a close burst against bots or a practice target. Judge whether you can keep sight of the target, not whether the animation looks interesting in a settings preview. Finish the five-minute testing routine at your normal resolution and export the version you keep.
For paste-ready sourced snapshots use the code directory. A player's code is a dated reference; it does not tell you which feedback style is best for your own learning.
