CS2 Crosshair Gap: Fix Crowded or Empty Centers
Tune the space in the middle of a crosshair around a visible target problem.
What the Gap Changes
The gap is the open space between the crosshair arms. A smaller opening can make the center easier to locate, while a larger opening can reveal more of a distant head. The useful choice depends on target size, line length, and thickness together.
Tune It in the Current Client
Open Settings -> Crosshair/Scopes, save your current share code, and adjust only the gap control. Hold the same angle before and after the change. Do not use an old cl_crosshairgap number as a promise of the same pixel spacing after the 2026 system update.
Gap Test
Check one distant rifle angle, one close target, a bright wall, and a dark corner. If the center disappears, restore the previous value before changing color or thickness. Export the version that solves the actual visibility problem and keep the original code as a rollback.
See the five-minute testing routine and CS2 crosshair command reference.
