CS2 Crosshair Thickness: Readable Lines Without Blocking Targets
Change thickness only when line visibility is the problem, then compare target coverage.
When Thickness Is the Right Fix
Increase thickness when the crosshair vanishes during movement or against a busy wall. Decrease it when the bars cover target edges or the center turns into a heavy block. Thickness is only one part of readability; color, outline, length, and gap can produce the same symptom.
Current Menu First
Use Settings -> Crosshair/Scopes and record the current share code before changing the thickness control. Valve's September 23 update note describes length and thickness in pixel units that rescale with resolution. A legacy cl_crosshairthickness value should therefore be treated as a historical command example until checked in the current client.
Controlled Check
Keep the same style, color, length, and gap. Compare a distant target and a bright surface, then repeat after stopping from a strafe. If the thicker version makes the target harder to inspect, roll back and try an outline or color change instead.
Use the current command reference only to understand legacy command names, and save the final result from the menu.
