CS2 Crosshair Outline: Add Contrast Without a Heavy Center
Use an outline to separate a readable crosshair from bright or detailed map surfaces.
What an Outline Is For
An outline adds a boundary around the crosshair. It can help when the chosen color blends into a wall, model, or utility effect. It can also make a small crosshair feel thicker and obscure the center.
Test the Outline, Not a Whole New Setup
Save your current code, keep length, gap, thickness, and color unchanged, then toggle the outline in Settings -> Crosshair/Scopes. Compare a pale surface, a dark corner, and a player model. If it helps only one scene while hurting the other two, try a color change before increasing outline thickness.
Console Note
Older references use cl_crosshair_drawoutline and cl_crosshair_outlinethickness. Those names are useful for reading legacy configs, but this site does not claim a universal post-update value mapping. Export the working share code from the current client.
Read the high-contrast guide for a complete visibility test.
