CS2 Static Square Crosshair: What Changed and How to Test It
A style comparison for players considering the new static square option in Crosshair/Scopes.
What Valve Added
Valve's September 23, 2026 update note says it added a static square style. The note supports the existence of the option, but does not claim that the shape improves aim or suits every player.
Compare It With a Static Cross
Save your current code, select the square option in Settings -> Crosshair/Scopes, and compare it with a static cross using the same visible color and target distance. Check whether the square's center remains easy to place and whether its outline covers target detail. Then try a close target and a bright background.
Do not copy numerical values from a screenshot and assume they map to the same appearance. Adjust in the current preview, test in practice, and export the final code.
See the static crosshair guide and the new style reference.
